What can I dance to this song?
Tempo
The most important factor in figuring out which dance fits a song is the tempo. Please enter the song's tempo in bpm. You can find the bpm of a song by tapping along to the song here. Or by simply adding the Spotify ID of the song to the input on this page.
Rhythm
Each dance has a characteristic rhythm. In the table below, you can find a sample track highlighting the rhythm of each dance. The rhythm is not always as clear as it sounds in the sample tracks, but it should still give you an idea for the feel of the dance.
Time Signature
The time signature is also critical to find the correct dance. There are only two time signatures that have to be distinguished here: 3/4 and 4/4. To find the time signature, simply count along to the song.
If you can count 1 2 3, 1 2 3 and it matches the music, the song in in 3/4. This also means that it is a waltz. All thats left to find out is wether it is a Viennese or slow waltz.
If you can count 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4, the song is in 4/4. In that case, check the "tempo" and "rhythm" sections for more information.
Technically, Samba and Tango are in 2/4 and Jive is in 6/8, but this can be ignored here.
